1773/7/7/26: AGC Collective Actions Ltd v Alphabet Inc., Google LLC, Google Ireland Ltd & Google UK Ltd
An application to commence collective proceedings has been brought against Google on behalf of UK advertisers, seeking between £1.8 billion and £3.1 billion in damages. The claim alleges that Google abused its dominant position in the digital display advertising and search engine markets, resulting in inflated advertising costs and reduced competition.
CL-2026-000235: Tour Des Finances NV GVBF v CBRE Loan Services Ltd
Special Purpose Vehicle Tour Des Finances NV GVBF, an arm of the bankrupt Korean real estate giant JR Global, has filed a claim against CBRE Loan Services alleging breach of contract. The claimant seeks a declaration as to the correct meaning of the contract and an injunction to compel valuation of the claimant's property which serves as security for loans totalling €583.9 million.
HP-2026-000018: Jellycat Ltd v Bessie London Ltd; HP-2026-000020: Jellycat Ltd v Hamleys of London Ltd; IL-2026-000060: Jellycat Ltd v Next Retail Ltd
Jellycat, a UK-based toy and accessories brand known for its plush soft toys, has filed three passing off and trade mark claims against Next, Hamleys and Bessie London. Jellycat holds UK and EU registered trademarks covering plush toys, playthings and accessories, and previously brought trademark proceedings against Aldi in 2024.
AD-2020-000200: Cardoso v Salic (UK) Ltd
A group action involving more than 18,000 individuals concerning pollution caused by the Haidar shipwreck in Brazil was struck out after the court found that Pogust Goodhead did not have authority to commence proceedings outside Brazil. The law firm has been ordered to pay approximately £900,000 interim costs to the defendants.
