[2026] EWHC 692 (Ch) / BL-2023-001158: The Wine Enterprise Investment Scheme Ltd v Crowe UK LLP

A wholesale alcoholic beverage company brought a negligence and breach of duty claim against its auditors for failing to detect fraud by its director, seeking around £4.4 million in damages but ultimately recovering only just over £100k after the court found the auditors’ duty of care did not extend to reporting directly to shareholders. The outcome leaves room for debate on both points of law and issues of quantum, so an appeal may well follow.

CL-2025-000448: Dunbar and others v Deutsche Bank AG and others

Former employees of Deutsche Bank have brought a claim for at least £700 million alleging breach of contract, conspiracy, and negligence. They argue that misconduct in the bank’s disciplinary and investigatory processes contributed to their wrongful fraud convictions, which were later overturned. The case is within the Transparency Pilot, with key submissions including a skeleton argument published on March 13th 2026.

CL-2026-000104: Market Financial Solutions Ltd v Raja

Now insolvent London-based bridging-loan specialist MFS has brought a claim against its founder and chief executive, Mr Paresh Raja, alleging fraud. In connection with the proceedings, the defendant has been issued a freezing injunction and a travel ban.

BL-2026-000179: Bunina v Nasibov

Svetlana Bunina has brought a claim against Orkhan Nasibov for at least $1.8 million, alleging breach of contract and a personal guarantee relating to 15 Bitcoin held under a fund storage arrangement. Despite a formal withdrawal request and a subsequent demand for payment, no funds have been returned or paid. The court has continued a domestic freezing injunction over the defendant’s assets until trial or further orders, pending resolution of the dispute.

1771/7/7/26: Mr Jeremy Newman v Rightmove PLC, Rightmove Group Ltd

A £1.6 billion collective action claim has now been filed against Rightmove. The action alleges Rightmove abused a dominant market position charging excessive fees and in exclusionary conduct, and is brought on behalf of around 7,200 members - mainly small estate and letting agents as well as developers.
