Kennedys IQ and Solomonic collaborate on insurance sector litigation data

Kennedys IQ and Solomonic have announced a new collaboration to explore the use of litigation data within the insurance industry.

The collaboration will deliver on a growing market need for integrating external data to support underwriting, claims, and compliance functions, helping clients better understand risk throughout the insurance lifecycle. This will enable Kennedys IQ to further support its clients’ decision-making through its patent-pending approach to AI, SmartRisk Machine Intelligence.

With research led by Kennedys IQ (and previously part-funded by Innovate UK, in partnership with UCL, Manchester University, RiskCovered and Havas), the collaboration builds upon the existing offerings from Kennedys IQ.

Working together, Solomonic’s litigation data, combined with Kennedys IQ’s proprietary event detection algorithms and policy wording analysis, will enable underwriters to analyse risk in a transparent and explainable way throughout the lifetime of the policy and renewal, providing robust and explainable outputs.

Peter Nussey, CRO, Solomonic comments, "We're thrilled to partner with Kennedys IQ and expand the use of our data into domains where its value can be harnessed. Collaboration and continued innovation with a focus on practical use cases of the platform’s data, will continue to empower new clients to drive greater impact within their businesses.

Solomonic is an award-winning and intuitive litigation analytics company. Founded on analytical rigour, data integrity and innovation, the product drives actionable intelligence that transforms the way litigation decisions are made and empowers professionals to operate at the cutting edge of their sector.

Kennedys IQ SmartRisk is the newest addition to the IQ platform, and launched in March 2025. Through a unique approach of augmenting insurance expertise and technology it enables underwriters and claims professionals to identify, manage and mitigate risk.

We are incredibly excited about the potential of bringing litigation data into the IQ Platform. Litigation being the risk of risks, it will enable our clients to gain a deeper insight into the world around them, and when combined with SmartRisk Machine Intelligence, we avoid data overload and instead provide contextual analysis” explains Karim Derrick, Chief Product Officer, Kennedys IQ.
