Gideon Cohen

Has been a barrister at One Essex Court since 2012. He won the Slaughter and May prize for the best First in law finals at Cambridge and was a Kennedy Scholar at Harvard. Notable cases include appearing for British Airways in the ongoing ‘air cargo’ litigation.

David Cohen

Has been a solicitor since 1980 and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation. He was a partner at Norton Rose for 15 years and is now a Consultant Solicitor at Keystone Law. He is on the editorial board of Palmers Company Law and is the author/editor of several law books on employee share schemes.


Henry Stott

Has over 30 years of commercial experience. He first worked as a Director at Oliver Wyman, a financial services strategy consultancy, where he helped to create their highly regarded Risk practice before going on to complete a PhD in cognitive science and statistics. In 2002 Henry founded Decision Technology, a research consultancy that specialises in the commercial applications of human decision-making. Decision Technology advises some of the world’s largest organisations and has been listed as one of the Financial Times’s Leading Management Consultants in 2018.

Is Managing Partner of Bertoli Mitchell, a specialist M&A and strategy advisory firm she co-founded in 1994 after an earlier career in scholarly publishing. Bertoli Mitchell are UK market leaders in M&A advisory work for SMEs in professional and academic publishing. Clients range from public companies to leading private companies in the publishing and information industry.

Joined Solomonic after being Director of Sales and Marketing at The Law Society. Edward has extensive experience in the legal and start up sector, including a role as Marketing Director at LexisNexis UK and Head of Signal Media, a machine learning start-up.

Tom Jewkes

Chief Operating Officer

Joined Solomonic in January 2018, having spent five years in EY’s (formerly Ernst and Young) Advisory practice from 2013. Prior to joining EY, Tom studied Management at Cambridge University’s Judge Business School.


Edward Nottingham

Has been a lead data scientist at Decision Technology since 2012, working with some of the UK’s leading public and private companies. He received a distinction in his Management MSc and was subsequently nominated for the Dean’s List for exceptional performance on the course. He also has a background in behavioural psychology.

Christopher Style QC

Practised at Linklaters from 1977 to 2012 and served as head of its disputes department. He acquired solicitor’s higher courts rights in 1997 and was appointed silk in 2006. His practice has included disputes arising out of banking and financial services; corporate transactions; professional negligence; the telecom and defence sectors, energy and infrastructure, insurance, aviation and shipping. He now practises as an arbitrator from One Essex Court.


Ian Terry

Practised at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, where he was Head of Dispute Resolution between 2006 and 2009 and the firm’s worldwide Managing Partner between 1996 and 2001. In a legal career spanning almost four decades, he has been involved in many of the most high-profile commercial disputes of the day, and has broad commercial experience involving many business sectors and jurisdictions.
